Knock Knock

Knock, knock.

I said, "Who's there"?

"It is I," said God, "I want you to be my heir.

Won't you please let me in?

A new life you can begin."

"Thanks," I said, "but I don't need you,

So please go away, just say adieu.

I am doing very well on my own,

I want to be me and free to roam."

Knock, knock.

I said, "Who's there"?

"It's me again," said God. "I still care.

I can carry all your load dear one,

For you I gave my only Son."

"Oh God," I said, "Please let me be,

Find someone else to tree.

I have better things to do,

Than spend my time with you.

Knock, knock.

God said, "Who's there"?

I said, "It's me, oh God--You still there?

I have problems in my life,

Don't think I can handle the strife.

"Please let me in, I need that peace with you.

I am so in need of a talk with you.

Many things in my life--oh, so wrong.

I hope I haven't waited too long."

God said, "Please do step inside.

In me you can confide.

I will take care of the rest.

Leave it to me--you'll have the best.

"I am here to comfort you,

I will give you life anew.

You and I will have many talks,

Together we will take many walks.

"I'm so glad you have come to me.

Everything will work out--you'll see.

Your future will be a guarantee,

Spend eternal life with me.

"I think you would agree,

The best is yet to be,

I will never let you fall,

For my Jesus paid it all."
