Too Busy This Christmas

Christmas time in all it's wonder,
Magical, enchanting, dazzling with delight.
People busy, hustle, bustle, there is no time to waste.
Check our list, get our gifts and get them wrapped tonight.

There's a Christmas play with my friend,
 Promised I would go,
Just don't have time this year,
I hope this won't offend.

Need to get my hair done, just look at my nails!
Really don't feel so well, must get on the mend.
Look in my closet, I have nothing new to wear.
Oh my, so much to do, will this madness ever end?

Bought ingredients to make those cookies,

Time moving closer, no time to spare.

Thaw the Turkey, make the dressing,

I'm finally ready for the big affair.

Whew, it's finally over, I can relax, Max,
Christmas Day is here.
The gifts are wrapped and under the tree,
Others to places far and near.

The cookies were a big hit at the office,

Hair and nails were done, a new dress to boot,

Seems like everything worked out okay,

I sat on Santa's lap, was that a hoot!

The phone rings, it's my friend, Samantha,
"Merry Christmas Angie," she says, "we missed you at the play."
I told Sam I was just so busy this time of year.
She told me it was a special play

About the birth of Jesus,
Who was born on Christmas day.
He came to earth to be our Savior,
And show us the one and only true way.

After we talked I really felt guilty
For not taking the time for my friend Sam.
Don't know what I missed by not attending that play,
Perhaps another time, another day.

Sad that Angie had no time for her friend, Sam.

Who knows when there might be another chance

To see what miracle God might perform in her heart.

I hope Angie will get another chance for a new start.
