Give thanks in all
circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
~1 Thessalonians 5:18~
Be thankful. Oh, how easy this is when
everything is going well in our lives. But when adversity comes our way,
we sing a different tune. Perhaps, it's because I am older now that I
think differently. A few months ago I was dealing with some new health
issues and was quite devastated. Among other things, I had a very bad back
injury. I literally crawled in and out of bed. There were a
lot of things I simply could not do. About seven or eight visits with my
chiropractor fixed me right up. Now, I'm thanking God that I can get in
and out of the shower, clip my toenails, shave my legs and many other
tasks too numerous to mention. I thank him for each day He gives to me.
So it's not just a one-day-a-year
thankfulness. Just thank God you are alive. Thank him for your health,
thank Him for everything He provides for you and your family (food, material possessions, etc.).
Thank Him that you can see, walk, talk. I think you get it...try everything. I
believe this verse epitomizes how thankful God wants us to be. The
emphasis is on the word all, meaning everything. The following Scripture
will get you started.
Shout
for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
~Psalms 100:1~
With thankful hearts,
let's tell everyone about God's amazing love, His goodness, His mercy, His
greatness
.Enter his gates with
thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and
praise his name.
~Psalms 100:4~
Whether we are in church
or out and about, give praise to God and thank him for whom He is--the
Great I Am, Almighty God.
Praise
the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love
endures forever.
~Psalms 106:1~
God has always been and will
always be. I think this is an awesome thought.
Let
them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful
deeds for men.
~ Psalms 107:21~
God loves us
unconditionally. That is huge. We are not even within a hair's breath of
being loveable. But God loves us anyway, with a love so amazing and
endearing. I don't know why he would love me enough to allow His only Son
to be crucified for me, but He does,
and I am most thankful for His love. Knowing this gives me a most
wonderful peace.
Always giving thanks
to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
~Ephesians 5:20~
nother verse that
echoes the theme of thankfulness. Give thanks to God and praise Him for
all He has done for you. Remember, you can't praise God too much. So make
the words "thank you, God," a big part of your daily conversation.
Thanks be to God for his
indescribable gift.

Corinthians 9:15~
