Easter is April 8 2012
With the arrival of spring, our thoughts frequently turn to new life. Everyone enjoys seeing bunnies and baby chicks. The spring flowers bursting forth are a sight to behold!! This beautiful handiwork created by our Heavenly Father is a reminder that He is the master designer of the universe. God has lavished upon us magnificent creations for our enjoyment. The secular world thinks about baskets, eggs, bunnies, candy and flowers. Certainly these all have their place, but should never preempt celebrating the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who reigns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Please read the following account of the resurrection of Christ found in Matthew 28:1-7. After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.
There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.
The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

God sent his only Son to earth to bear the sins of the world. He lived among men to teach them the Father's love. The world did not receive him and He was crucified, suffering a cruel and heinous death. Yes, Jesus paid it all for our sins. He showed His power over death by rising victoriously from the grave, so that we might have eternal life. This is a great day to celebrate and praise God for His amazing love! We, also, can have victory over death. In John 5:24, God's Word says, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."
The Bible says " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16) If you would like to know how to become a Christian, have joy and peace, and spend eternity in the presence of Almighty God, click here.
