Patricia's Page for Encouragement

On this page you will find a few of my favorite Scriptures and quotes. God's Word is powerful. In 2 Samuel 22:31, the Bible says, "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him." God's Word is our spiritual food. Matthew 4:4 says, Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.' "

Allow your minds to be immersed into these Scriptures (until your cup overflows--Proverbs 23:5b), and you are filled with complete peace.

May the sorrowful find comfort, the weary-rest, the troubled-peace, the stranger-friends, the unhappy-joy. I pray you will be refreshed and encouraged by God's Word.

Isn't God awesome? I never cease to be amazed by the whole universe that he created. Think about it: each and every planet down to each tiny dot. And He created mankind in his own image. Why does he love us so much? I don't have the answer. But he allowed His only Son to be born of a virgin, live on this earth, and be unmercifully tortured unto death on a cross to pay for our sins. That's how much he loved us. The Bible tells us, "When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?"

~Psalm 8:3-4~ Praise God for His unmatchable love.

Peace, wonderful peace. Everyone wants peace, would you not agree? The first step is keeping in touch with Jesus in our prayers and in our everyday living. God promises peace, and his word says, "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you."

 ~Isaiah 26:3~

God Owns it All

As the Scripture says,

God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

Every one is His.

What else does He own?

He owns it all, my friend,

Down to every rock and stone.

He owns your house, your phone and car,

Your bank account, your treasures,

Your memories, your brightest star.

He owns your every thought

In the corners of your mind,

Every battle you have fought.

He owns your joys, your fears,

The longings in your heart,

Your laughter and your tears.

What He gives to you today

For your pleasure and enjoyment,

He can just as easily take away.

So give to Him in all that you do,

Your time, your money, yourself.

Remember, He gave it all for you.

Take comfort in knowing that God owns everything: Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours.

~1 Chronicles 29:11~

Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise,

Thou mine inheritance, now and always;

Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,

High King of heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

Read and study daily so that you may hide God's Word in your heart and better know how to pray. Seek God's will for your life. God will take you by the hand and lead you down the right path. Only then will you have complete peace in your heart and truly be encouraged by God's Word. God tells us, "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer."

 ~Psalm 19:14~

Strength for today's times. Oh yes, we surely need it. Times are so uncertain: war and bloodshed on every front, unemployment at an all-time high, housing market at an all-time low, cost of living, out of control, the political arena in total disarray. As Christians, we need to remember that regardless of the world situation, God is still in control. He reigns, and we can most assuredly have hope and be encouraged by this thought. And as God says in his word, "But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

~Isaiah 40:31~

God always know what is best for our lives, even though sometimes we may disagree. He created us and knows our every thought. How do you feel about someone knowing your every thought? If it were someone here on earth, you would probably be scared. He did create us--he knows our DNA. Psalm 139:13 says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb." I feel very special knowing that God created me. God never makes mistakes.

My life is but a weaving between my God and me; I may not choose the colors, He knows what they should be.

God is always with us...

Moment by Moment

God is always by my side,

My companion, my guide.

I feel most content,

Moment by moment.

He is there, I just know.

Revealing the path I should go.

I must relent,

Moment by moment.

He gives comfort through my fears,

Wipes away all my tears,

I get a tiny glint,

Moment by moment.

Walking together every day,

This is the Master's way.

He gives His consent,

Moment by Moment.

Thanks be to God for his imprint,

Each day, each hour, each moment,

My life is His accomplishment,

Moment by moment.

Do you ever feel that you just don't belong? It is so easy to get lost in the crowd and we feel so insignificant. Broken home, broken marriage, children have strayed, families scattered. These are just a few of the reasons we feel out of touch. I remember a gospel song entitled "He Touched Me." Yes, he truly has touched all of us. He made us and we belong to Him. The only way I have found to keep from getting lost in the crowd is prayer. This keeps me close to God and also my family. Through prayer, there is a bond unlike anything I have ever experienced; this is when I truly know that I do belong!  God's Word tells us, "The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it."

 ~Psalm 89:11~

Beautiful Savior!  Lord of the nations!

Son of God and Son of Man!

Glory and honor, praise, adoration,

Now and forevermore be Thine!

There's the wonder of sunset at evening,

The wonder as sunrise I see;

But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul

Is the wonder that God loves me.

When you have a load to bear, to whom do you turn? Most often, we think of husband/wife, a family member or our best friend. And these indeed are special and dear folks. But our best friend is Jesus. Job 16:20 says, "My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as a man pleads for his friend." We can surely bear our soul to God, and he always has the perfect solution and timing for our problems. God's word says, "I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."

~Psalm 121:1-2~

Keep ascending the mountain of cheerfulness by daily scattering seeds of kindness along the way as best you can, and, should mists hide the mountaintop, continue undaunted and you will reach the sun-tipped heights in your own life-experience..

This verse says it all when it comes to prayer (a favorite scripture for my prayers).

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him

~1 John 5:14-15~

Ironically, our failure may be a success in God’s mind, contributing in a most positive way to our future and to his intentions for our life.
